Machine translation

Optional machine translation sends website and menu text to DeepL. Account details, photos, prices and allergen selections are not sent. Results remain drafts until you publish. Provider access remains disabled until configured and reviewed.

Privacy and legal contact

Email privacy@plateship.com for data-protection requests and dsa@plateship.com for notices about illegal content. Other legal questions can be sent to legal@plateship.com. We may ask for proportionate information to confirm your identity before disclosing or deleting account data.

Accounts and business access

We process names, email addresses, password hashes, account records, claims and manager invitations to provide accounts and manage listing access. This is necessary to provide the service you request. Passwords are never published. Listing confirmation is free; billing is currently disabled.

Your website

Website drafts, menus, photos and translations are stored to provide the publishing service. Published versions are public and searchable. Up to 20 published versions are retained until the business is deleted. Unpublishing hides the site but keeps its draft and history. Retired address names remain reserved without an owner link to prevent reuse and misleading old links.

Public business information

Business details come from OpenStreetMap, public business websites and contributions from owners and visitors. Our legitimate interest is to maintain a useful and accurate hospitality directory. Automated enrichment fills only missing fields, records its source and protects claimed listings. You may request a correction or object to processing that concerns you.

People named in public sources

A public business source can sometimes include a sole trader name, work contact details or another person-linked business detail that we did not obtain from that person. The categories are business identity, role, address, telephone, email, website and source reference. Sources are OpenStreetMap and the business’s own public website. We rely on legitimate interests in maintaining an accurate directory, balance that interest against the person’s rights, provide source attribution where applicable and accept correction, objection and deletion requests.

Optional professional profiles

Profiles are private by default. Publishing is your choice and makes your bio and employment history visible to visitors and search engines. Employment is self-reported; confirmation means a current listed manager confirmed that entry. You can unpublish your profile, although search-engine copies may take time to disappear. Verification requests and reference emails identify the person and relevant employment entry.

Reviews, jobs and alerts

Reviews and replies you publish are public. Jobs link to the employer or original job board, which handles applications under its own rules. Job alerts use your filters and account email to deliver the service you request; you can delete alerts in your account. Contact and reference forms forward individual emails to the business; replies go to the sender, without a Plateship inbox.

Contact and reference requests

Contact forms send your name, email address and message to the business. A reference request also identifies the person and employment entry you are asking about. Replies go to your email address. These are individual emails, not private conversations stored in a Plateship inbox.

Launch announcements and outreach

The launch form uses your consent to store your email and send one opening announcement. Signups expire after 12 months and the list is deleted after the announcement. You can withdraw through Remove my signup on the opening page. Separately, business outreach is currently disabled. If activated, it sends one factual listing email to a public role-based business address, with a durable unsubscribe link and a hashed suppression record.

Feature update emails

Business users can optionally ask for email when Plateship releases new features. We record the choice, time and consent version. You can withdraw from the business page at any time; this does not stop necessary account, security or service emails.

Feedback and service improvement

The optional feedback form stores the category, message, page path, language, browser user-agent and, when you are signed in, your account ID. We use this information under our legitimate interest in finding faults, preventing abuse and improving Plateship. It is not a contact channel and no personal reply is sent. Submissions are deleted after 24 months.

reCAPTCHA abuse prevention

The feedback form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to assess whether a submission is automated abuse. Google can process technical device, interaction and network information and set the _grecaptcha security cookie. We load it only on the feedback form and treat it as necessary security storage based on our legitimate interest in protecting the service.

Cookies and service providers

Necessary storage supports security, sessions, language choices and consent preferences. Optional analytics and external maps require your choice. Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager measures visits only after analytics consent; advertising and personalisation are disabled. Oderland hosts the service and Mailgun delivers email through its EU endpoint. Google and map providers may process data outside the EEA under their applicable transfer arrangements. Storage and service records

Accounts and listing-access records are retained while needed to provide the service or resolve access disputes. Public contributions remain until removed or no longer needed. Security and delivery logs support troubleshooting; hosting logs can include IP addresses. Minimal server-side listing-view and claim counters are separate from optional Google analytics. Consent receipts contain choices, a policy version, time and a random reference, without your email or account ID, and expire after 180 days.

Access verification and legal notices

Business-access documents are stored privately outside the public website, are not sent to external AI and are visible only to authorised administrators. Pending evidence expires after 90 days; after a decision it expires after 30 days. We keep the decision and limited audit information while needed to prevent fraud and resolve disputes. Illegal-content notices and the decision history are retained for up to three years for legal compliance, accountability and repeat-abuse prevention. The notification email contains no uploaded document.

Your choices and rights

You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability where applicable, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Withdraw optional-service consent in Cookie settings. Withdrawal does not undo earlier lawful processing. We normally respond to rights requests within one month and may verify your identity. You can complain to IMY in Sweden or your local data-protection authority. Plateship does not make automated decisions about employment eligibility.

Account export and deletion

Signed-in users can download a machine-readable copy of their account data and delete their account from the profile page. Deletion removes the account, reviews, work history, alerts, claims and current business access. Some minimal records may remain where law, security, fraud prevention or an unresolved dispute requires them; public business facts are not erased merely because an account that edited them is deleted.
